Maling Collectors Day April 2001 The Maling Collectors Society collectors day held at the workshop
on 28th April 2001 was a great success. Around 40 collectors and Maling
enthusiasts attended to see Doug and Vi Spearman making slip cast
pots from maling moulds. Doug and Vi former worked at the Maling
Pottery. Also present at the workshop was John Hughes and Cecil Parker
engravers at the Maling Pottery. Cecil started work at the pottery in the
early 1920's. John, then aged 14 was apprenticed to Cecil . John
and Cecil both have fascinating tales to tell about a youngsters life at
