Hadrian Square in Byker is a new public square
on Shields Road. The square was designed by Artscope and they commissioned
Charles Allen at New Castle Delft to produce the ceramic tiles and
plaques. They also commissioned Charles Allen to make a series of special bricks that related to the
history of Byker. Unfortunately these bricks were not included in the
finished scheme.
