What is delft?

Delft, is a place in Holland, famous for blue and white pottery and tiles. Delft is also a term used for a method of ceramic decoration, where metal oxides (most commonly Cobalt Oxide) is painted on to an unfired Tin Oxide based glaze, then fired to an earthenware temperature.

What size are you tiles?

My standard hand made tiles are a nominal: 5 inch square and approximately half an inch thick: 4 inch square and a quarter of an inch thick. Because I make my tiles I am able to make tiles to your specifications.

If I order tiles from you, how will you get them to me?

I dispatch my tiles by national carriers.

Can I visit the workshop?

Visitors are always welcome in my workshop. I would advise prospective visitors to phone or email me to make an appointment, as I can not always be in the workshop.
The workshop is generally open Monday to Friday 9.00 am-5.00pm Open at weekends only by appointment.

What is the price of your tiles?

Because all my work is commissioned. Each commission is priced individually.

How durable are your tiles?

Tiles are fired to mid earthenware temperatures all colours are fired and permanent. The glazes are subject to crazing.
