Lilac House is located in the village of Westgate-in-Weardale.

The village is situated between Stanhope and Alston on the A689. It originally marked the western entrance to Stanhope Park, the Prince Bishops’ deer park. The Weardale valley lies within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is rich in wildlife. Slit Wood (a mere 100yds from the house), is renowned for its' pleasant walks and waterfalls. It is also of significant interest because of its' plants and geology.

Lilac House is a stone built family home,run by June and Charlie Allen, who offer:

  • a double room, en suite with TV and coffee / tea making facilities.
  • a double room, with acess to a family bathroom, and coffee / tea making facilities.
  •  the use of a  lounge with an open fire, TV / CD / DVD player
  • a warm welcome to children
