This project was an initiative of The 'Laing Art Gallery', Newcastle Upon Tyne. The 'Laing' placed several artist-designers in a range of Schools through out the region. Textile artists, ceramists, potters, industrial designers were all involved. I was working with the more senior students  of St. Mary's Comprehensive School. A Roman Catholic School in Benton. I worked in the Art Department on a series of ceramic sculpture projects with the students whilst also developing my own personal work.
The Ceramic fish sculpture above is 5 feet in length and was made to show the students how a large piece of ceramic sculpture could me made and fired in the relatively small kiln that the department were using.
