These 'Wobbley Obelisks' as I call then, where part of a series made in 1997 for the potters of the North exhibition in 'Washington Arts Centre' Tyne & Wear. They have also been shown at 'The Globe Gallery', North Shields and at 'The Bluebell Gallery', Byker , Newcastle upon Tyne. They are made of earthenware clay. Some have them have been glazed whilst some are decorated with a mix of copper oxide with manganese oxide which in places develops a copper flash on firing. |
